Peace Love & Little Donuts was founded in the Strip District of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. We are all about delicious, fun, and shareable donut experiences that’ll satisfy any sweet tooth. We’re now located all across America!
How It All Got Started
A friend knew that I had dabbled in the food business besides my lifelong calling and devotion to serving in the Ministry. He needed to clean out a garage he was renting and one of the items he had purchased was a little donut machine that he wasn’t even sure worked.
I agreed to take it off his hands. When I got it home, my wife was convinced that I had bought another non-working piece of equipment that would join the pile of other brilliant projects in our garage… and to be fair… she wasn’t that far off.
She “strongly suggested” that I look into making donuts for a big hockey tournament, and to my dismay, the director said “Yes!”. So in my case, there is a strong woman behind this man.
I Swear It Was
A Mistake
After the successful event at the hockey rink, I thought… “hey, why not set up once and leave all the equipment instead of setting up and breaking down for these events?” (I mean, isn’t laziness the mother of all invention?). I found a tiny, 209 sq ft space to rent in the Strip District of Pittsburgh and signed a lease. I also intended to make a regular sized cake donut versus the minis we had made at outdoor events. I ordered the larger donut hopper, but it came without instructions for some reason and I put it together wrong apparently. No matter what I tried, it would only make this “little” donut. So, we figured that we would go with what we had and see what happens. We now refer to this event as the “Holy Accident” because since opening, literally hundreds of thousands of people have told us they are the “Perfect Size”.
In creating our Groovy, Far Out and Funkadellic flavors we knew that we couldn’t lose the incredible taste of our old fashion cake donut. With that in mind each donut was created so that with every bite you would taste our fresh, warm donut, the subtle flavor of our frostings and our crazy selection of Funkadelic toppings; with no one flavor overwhelming the others.
All of our stores work hard to make sure that you enjoy those flavors as we intended them from the beginning in our tiny shop.

It can be as simple as ordering at the store or online and we will have your order ready and waiting. Our Disco Party Box (3 dozen) works great. If you are looking for something a little more groovy — our warm donut bar may do the trick. Fresh donuts decorated on-site for your guests by our far-out staff.
Franchise
After signing the Franchise Agreement and Lease, you will begin the build out and preparation for opening process. As soon as we have all drawings, permits and licenses in place and a firm date for completion of the construction, we will schedule staff training and the store opening.
